Penelope Todd of Rosa Mira Books has agreed to e-publish Twister. She’s been editing my manuscript two chapters at a time.  Your editor, I have decided, is like your hygienist; there are no secrets.

Are you sure you’ve been using those small brushes I recommended? is not that far from I couldn’t find this word in any dictionary??? or wasn’t he called Dave in a previous chapter??? But I am not complaining. In the same way I trust my hygienist’s professionalism to make my pearly whites gleam and sparkle, so I trust Penelope to do the same to my manuscript.

And when I huff and puff as she finds yet another hackneyed phrase, dangling modifier or incorrect comma splice, I can at least console myself with having taught her one new word … out of 86,000.
